Dumbest Overpriced Collection

This is the dumbest overpriced collection on prepub I've ever seen. I betcha a betcha it will never come out of prepub. I can't believe they even thought about putting it together. I can't believe they want to sell it at that price on the prepub program...hey, I can't believe is not butter...LOL
What was Nelson thinking?!!!

I don't know about that Giovanni. I quickly pencil-whipped the calculation. Looks like maybe $300 at best (as a collection). I don't think it qualifies for the dumbest.

Denise when you consider the volumes in that collection the only thing worth getting there (assuming I didn't own any of them) are the WBC volumes. I got the preacher's commentary for $15 bucks and Vernon McGee's 60 volume commentary along with other tons of books for $9.95 - tons of other books included the collected writings of Vine and other study bibles, etc. This is truly the dumbest and deceiving collection of them all, period! I can bet u anything it will never make it out of prepub unless Logos puts the money upfront for production costs and then sell it at a higher price which will make it even more dumber and deceiving!

Will you bet me a full year of courteous language? Since Logos states that all the individual titles are already available the "upfront cost" is the web page and the bundle entries in one or more databases.[:D]

I don't know about the price being dumb, but it looks like a rather dumb collection all in itself. I can't imagine what possessed them to put it together.

Wow, I really don't like name calling, but in this case I guess it kind of looks like a dumb collection. Why would any body pay a little over $400 bucks for this collection, when you can get it cheaper like Giovanni says. I've seen the preacher's commentary and McGee's commentaries very, very cheap lately you could build this and other collections of your own with less money...hehehe...oh well. Anyway, I guess some have bought in to it and have placed their order.
Blessings!

Deal MJ, but I'd have to get your picture so I can hang it on my wall. You have beautiful eyes and the black and white format of your picture makes it more appealing.
G'night!

Harty, harty MJ, is that part of your stand up act? [;)] LOL...it was funny though. [:P] Reminds me of a student at seminary. He asked a really innocent question when we were studying the gospel of Mark. You know, most demons wanted to confess Jesus was the Messiah, but Jesus forbade them to say that because it wasn't His time. Anyway, a demon possess man was dumb (couldn't speak) and the student asked the instructor: "Brother H.N. how come all the other demons confessed Jesus was the Messiah and this one didn't? And of course, I said aloud, "Because he was dumb..." hehehe...anyway, this is not part of my stand up act...it was just funny how innocent his question was.
Blessings!

This collection rather amazed me too. After pondering who would buy it, all I came up with is a seminary student working on a Master's thesis on Pauline writings and nothing else. The content is not bad but there are other collections in Logos that would meet that need better.

There's almost always something in collections that really aren't going to be used or count as useful. Everyone who goes with Scholar packages will surely neglect a considerable portion of it.
Being this is a publisher's package, it means that it's not going to ring the chimes of most folks who would rather buy WBC as a set and move on. The fact that it already shows some interest means that some folks don't think it's that dumb.

I'm not sure how helpful McGee or the Preacher's Commentary will be for a seminarian writing a scholarly thesis. I won't go as far as call this collection "dumb", but it sure isn't appealing. I have no idea who would buy it.

Well, I agree with your point on scholarship at a Master's level. I was trying to justify a Paul-centric collection and forgot to look closer at the actual contents.
Pauline Studies Library (35 vols.) for $799 seems to be a better collection for that piurpose.
Library of NT Studies: JSNTS on Paul (17 vols.) for $899 is another more suitable collection.
Fortress Press Paul Collection (17 vols.) for $574.95 is yet another.
Pauline Studies Collection (10 vols.) for $449.95 is in the general price range. I don't know much about this collection.
So what were they thinking? I would hate to be agreeing with Giovanni Baggio [:|]

Why is this even a pre-pub? Are not these resources available already on Logos?
