I'm not exactly clear on what the topic for this thread is or means, but, as far as the drawings, I wish my spiritual growth was the upward linear avenue in the first drawing. It is a lot more like the second. [:D]

I am sure the "dissers" are still full of steam even after they vent and don't realize how "naked" they are to others.
Progress on anything worthwhile probably resembles picture 2 far more than it resembles picture 1. Thanks for the reminder, MJ.
Wonder if pictures were prompted by Black Friday vyrso free book => http://blog.logos.com/2011/11/vyrsos-black-friday-sale-inspirational-savings-2/
Also, after looking at 2nd picture, went looking for more success images, found some mind map desktop wallpaper => http://blog.iqmatrix.com/mind-map/mind-map-desktop-wallpaper
Wonder about mind mapping bible studies ? (enhance sentence diagramming)

Wonder about mind mapping bible studies ?
Actually, there are several people working in mind mapping and concept mapping for Bible Study - including myself. I'm still several months away from a public demo.
But a small hint of where concept maps take you in navigating scripture (with a big dose of imagination) is for Aaron's rod. Mind you here it doesn't link into Logos, topics.logos and other similar maps as it does in "real life" as a much different way to navigate cross-references..

MJ I am not familiar with one type of tree in your diagram [:D]
After lurking on MJ Smith's website (Logos4Catholics) I became intrigued with using mind mapping software. Although I found the free open source offerings difficult to use I took MJ' s recommendation on using a trial of affordable software. I paid for the non-trial three days afterwards. This is a shot of my first outline and am starting to put my thoughts into Word now. It is very good to help you remember things that "pop" into your mind while planning your course of action. Please remember that this is my first attempt and rudimentary but I can see it helping me with my research big time.
I am personally using it to organize my thoughts so that I can research and put the final study on paper. I am not a leader or teacher, simply a layperson with no advanced training.

Which software are you using? Looks cool! I wish something like this could be implemented with sentence diagraming tool!
He is using Inspiration 9 which I use for many purposes. FreeMind is free and good but more complicated to use and not quite a flexible. The tool I used above is IHMC CTools which is a free academic research product that I wouldn't use for polished presentations.

It's a Pacific Northwest tree which explains that explains why Boeing started in the NW[:D] I'll look for an alternative name when Ie back.

Thanks for clarifying that. I'll file that for future reference [8-|]

Philana, I am so happy that MJ Smith had mentioned this program. It is relatively affordable, about $59 for one computer or a "Family Pack" for three users on three computers for $99. If you buy it from Inspiration's web site you will pay $69. I emailed the company because with my work schedule I wanted it on two computers. They said that I could either use the family pack or gave me an alternative to an academic store which was cheaper by $10 even if you were not a student. If you can qualify as a student or faculty member you can get it for $30. I did not qualify for the academic discounts because I am not a student or faculty member but still saved $10 compared to the Inspiration company's web site and it was a download so no waiting and no shipping.
If you are interested in me forwarding you the email that they sent me with the recommended web site to purchase it from please feel free to email me at this addy rick68 at vqme dot net(not com) and it will save you at least $10. I also recommend downloading the fully functional trial to see if you would like it and use it. I thought that it was awfully nice of them to send me an email suggesting a site where I could save $10 rather than insisting that I buy directly from them. I guess that they get paid either way though. Other programs were either too hard (the freebies) or too expensive (anywhere from $300-$500 U.S.) I did not even try the expensive ones because I knew they were out of my range. Inspiration is really easy and has a lot of features!
