Interesting to read the contents, abbreviations and then sample text. Latter discusses with references the parallel of Matthew's Jesus' birth versus Moses' birth accounts. I'd already notice the Samaritan Birth of Moses was very similar too.

Just for anyone curious, I received the referenced book above, yesterday. If you google it, apparently it's gotten quite a bit of comment.
However, my question was where it stood relative to 'Logos-world' (by that I mean the integrated sources Logos connects up ... Tanakh, apocrypha, pseudepigrapha, Dead Sea Scrolls (sectarian), and then the various greek/roman writings of the time.
In other words, is it looking at the 1st century (deduced) jewish world, or today's jewish world?
Just an opinion (and very arguable), it looks like it's a Tanakh/Mishnah/Talmud-ish view relative to the NT writings. That's not meant to be negative; only saying it doesn't appear to try to pick up the jewish thought process in the 1st century and the short period before that.
But once you understand where it seems to be coming from, it does have quite a bit of interesting detail. Like any commentary (this closer to a 'study Bible'), some NT books have a considerable amount of detail / thought-provoking and others are just cross-references to other portions of NT (e.g. nothing new).
But if you'd like a closer connect of the Mishnah, Talmud, etc to the NT, it's certainly worth the price. You'll likely grit your teeth a bit periodically; where there's a difference of perspective, it 'digs in'.

It states that it is doing several things:
- putting the NT in the context of the 1st and 2nd centuries of Judaism
- clarifying the Jewish background of passages that might otherwise be confusing to the NT reader
- following the divergence of Christianity and Rabbinic Judaism into later centuries

Whoa! Copies are still available via other vendors in Amazon's network, but the minimum price is now over $400! I think I'll pass.
EDIT: Barnes & Noble has it temporarily out of stock but it will be available Dec 16. Amazon has no date listed, but you can still place an order and it will ship when more of them come in.

Two local Barnes & Noble bookstores have it in stock. Once I saw the cover on Amazon, I remembered seeing it on the shelf a few days ago. So I might go and take a look at it later today.

After reading the reviews on Amazon, I think this would certainly be a worthy contribution to the Logos oeuvre.

I was shocked not to find any post of mine in this thread, since I want this badly (and had been planning to revive the suggestion), but it turns out there's another one as well, which does have my name in it: Jewish NT commentary!
Unfortunately that thread also reminded me it's OUP, so don't hold your breaths.
