Please add this version to the resources offered.
I have used it in another platform for a few years and find it very useful, especially in old testament readings.

Haven't ignored your thread, Carey.
But it did motivate me to read up on the KJV 2000 vs the NKJV. It's an interesting discussion.

thanks Denise, I also looked into the discussion.
I guess my main purpose to 'bump' was to get Logos attention (and thinking) if this is something that they can offer.
For those unaware, the KJ2000 utilizes the red letter function in the old testament ALSO.
When casually reading, this has at times been an eye opener (red letter function) and motivated a deeper consideration of the context.

actually, if you might give more info, it would help me too. I have never heard of a "red-letter" OT. What is in red? Are the Psalms Jesus quoted in red? or passages where some people think the "Angel of the Lord" might be the Son speaking? It's a serious question. Thanks!

Ok, I Googled this, and the Red-Letter OT has all of the direct words of God ("direct quoted speech" like when a prophet says "thus saith the Lord") for the OT like the NT has the world of Christ. This wouldn't necessarily be a bad idea...using visual filter and syntax search we can already to this. But I would only want a feature like this if I could turn it off. The Red-Letter would get pretty overwhelming in some areas of the Bible, when reading that is.

thanks for doing the leg-work on this, Philana. It'd be interesting to see this. I imagine some prophetic sections are open to judgment as to who exactly is the speaker . . . but we have that issue, too, such as in John 3. Nevertheless, interesting.

Glad to, I was curious myself, since it was something new to me. I could see where it would be useful. I would not mind this feature in a digital Bible, but would not want this in a print Bible (you can buy one). It would be very distracting in the OT because of size of OT (you might have the majority for example one of the Prophets being in red) it could be very hard to read. I appreciate the ability to customize in Logos. I had never heard of this being done in the OT before. Not a bad idea, but I think better suited to a digital platform.

I highlighted the verbal words of God and expressions by the angel of the Lord that are taken to be God speaking in the book of Genesis. I'm not sure I would want it in every book of the Old Testament. I created a separate palette so I could turn it off and on. I find it to be interesting.

Thanks MJ I forgot about genre coding. I agree we should give the Holy Spirit recognition. This kind of reminds me of the Rainbow Study Bible where the Bible was highlighted based upon like eleven themes. Problem is that a single passage could have more than one theme. Also makes it hard to mark-up text.

I didnt want to start anything about WHICH PART of the God Head was speaking, just (leave it at) God speaking.
This is something that the KJ2000 does.....hence, I would like logos to add it to our choices.

I did see that, but haven't had time to experiment with it yet.
I remember putting a visual filter in the bible for the three Herod's (seen it demonstrated in these forums (also by Jerry M)).. it took me a while but I found them (Herod filters) most helpful when happening on one of them in my readings.
I will have to revisit this when I have more time.
