New books not indexing

Hey everyone,

I'm running Logos 4 and just downloaded 4 books from Vyrso over the weekend. According to the synchronization icon, everything is up to date BUT my books aren't in my library yet because my library has never indexed. I've tried a couple things which haven't worked yet.

(1) Restarted computer and Logos

(2) Typing in the command box "update now"...but no updates were found

I have the most recent software update and I haven't had any problems like this yet. I've seen a couple other posts about this and those people were stuck at 0% for a while. However, I'm not even getting to the screen of indexing. Any ideas?? Thanks!

John - First, welcome to the forums!

When you say that your library has NEVER indexed, do you mean NEVER? Or do you just mean it has not indexed these books? Second, did you use your Logos account information when you purchased with Vyrso? Have you checked Biblia.com to see if the books are there?

To answer your first question. My library HAS indexed fine in the past, but it has failed to do so recently (this weekend). I didn't think about Biblia.com but YES the books are actually there. Also, I did use my Logos account information upon purchasing the books.

So, right now, I at least will be able to read my books online with Biblia.com BUT it's kind of big deal to have them with my Logos library for researching...Any more possible ideas for getting my library to index? Thanks!

Welcome! Books do not have to be indexed to show in the library and for you to open them. Open up the library panel and see if you can find the books in the library. If not then I suspect that you have two accounts at logos. If will take a call to customer service to merge them into one.

Thank you for the advice. I will certainly be giving Logos support a call in the next couple of days to see if there is something up with my account. What is odd is when I go to logos.com and to my account page, my orders appear. However, the downloadable libronix files that are usually there for all of my other orders don't appear for the 4 I bought this weekend. The books do appear on Biblia.com but not in Logos. Perhaps there is a merging of accounts needed. Guess I'll have to wait and see. Thanks

Hey Dave,

I've actually tried the "update resources" command a few times and it hasn't worked unfortunately. It will have "checking for updates" in the top-right corner and eventually a screen will pop up saying that resources are ready to be added. BUT, once I restart Logos, there is still no indexing. It just appears like a normal start-up.

Wonder about enabling diagnostic logging ? Wiki has => Diagnostic Logging (if network is having proxy errors, messages should appear in Logos4.log and Indexer.log files)

Wonder if automatically download updates set to Yes ? (option: could set to No, then later change to Yes)

You should click that to initiate the download ...else we need to see logos4.log and logos4indexer.log from logging as per KS4J's post.
