The gospel according to covenant theology

I am currently going through Scofields on his exposition of what the gospel is. He breaks it down into 4 points
(1) The Gospel of the kingdom.
(2) The Gospel of the grace of God.
(3) The everlasting Gospel (Rev. 14:6).
(4) That which Paul calls, “my Gospel” (Rom. 2:16 …).
According to Chafer "Strong objection is offered by Covenant theologians to a distinction between the gospel of the kingdom as preached by John the Baptist, Christ, and the other disciples and the gospel of the grace of God."
Is anyone familiar with this debate? I am looking for some resources that will help my in my study of this subject.

Dispensationalism, with its strong separation of the Church and Israel, will interpret the concept of the gospel of the kingdom differently than a non-dispensationalist. George Ladd's treatment of the kingdom of God in his book The Last Things would look differently on the topic than a classic dispensationalist, even though he is a premillennialist. Dispensationalists would have Jesus offering the national kingdom to Israel. In my opinion the concept of the kingdom is only recently and only in certain circles come to any kind of better understanding. So I would look in more recent works.

The Kingdom of God by Geerhardus Vos has a chapter on the reformed position but I don't think it is available in Logos.
There are probably others, perhaps someone else will chime in.

Blair,
Yes, I am familiar with this debate. As simply as I can put it and without wanting to enter into theological deep waters in the forum, as contrasting with Scofield, covenant theology views the gospel as one from the beginning of Scripture to the end, from the Old Testament and through the New. It all comes down to your hermeneutics, and that would be a good place to dive into with respect to finding resources in Logos to help you with this subject.
One book that discusses the distinction between dispensationalism and covenant theology is Understanding Dispensationalists, by Vern Poythress (P&R Publishing, 1987). Unfortunately, it is not in Logos.

Is there a section in that book concerning the exposition of the good news?

Jerry, if you are referring to Vos' book, The Teaching of Jesus Concerning the Kingdom of God and the Church, I have created a PBB of this for Logos 4 and would be willing to share the source files. You will have to create your own PBB of this book. I have zipped up a folder containing the files, including a book cover. [:)]6138.Vos Kingdom and Church FINAL.zip

No, I don't think so, but what the book will do is help you understand the differences in the hermeneutics between the two positions.
