I've recently started learning proclaim with the goal of teaching it to our worship team and using it in our Sunday services in the new year. Today when I opened Proclaim I received an error that the program could not start with no option to repair or try again. So I re-installed from scratch and then received a message that an "error occurred while attempting to contact the server". I realize this we're still in the beta stage but show-stopping bugs like this are troubling. The main page encouraged people to download the program and use it while it is in beta. There are no warnings I can see that this software isn't ready to be used on a Sunday morning.
First, does anyone understands what's happening here? I have an internet connection and nothing appears to be wrong. Are the proclaim servers down?
Second, and more importantly, is this going to be a regular problem? This just can't happen on a Sunday morning or this software is not going to be an option for our church. I can't arrive every Sunday morning wondering if an update is going to corrupt the program or a connection error is going to prevent me from running the presentation. Why does proclaim need to authenticate with the servers to open the program? Shouldn't I be able to access presentations that have been created/cached locally?
I like the program and hope this gets sorted quickly. But if this were to happen to me on a Sunday morning when I didn't have time to get something else prepared it would probably be the last time I used the software.
Thanks!
