Long Install

I am wanting to know if any long does the bible software takes to index...my states its doing it and is in stage 2 of 3...i have been running my computer for since 2am its now 9:20am....i am wondering is something wrong my computer...secondly i am currently paying on the software in installments do you think logos would send me CD's if i paid for them...

Indexing time can take a long time, but this seems very, very long. Factors that effect indexing time are: the size of your install package; the amount of free HD space you have (needs to be 2X the size of the install); other programs you have running that access the HD while indexing is going on (e.g. automatic, or scheduled defragging); the speed of your HDD; the amount of RAM you have; the processor you have; and how your anti-virus deals with HDD reads/writes.

For a large installation on a slower, lower-end computer, without much HD space 7+ hours might be about right. If that does not describe your computer you may have to [heavy sigh] start over, as something may have gotten stuck somehow.

Please post your computer spec's and which package you're installing and we may be able to tell you your best options for moving forward.

Michael - First, welcome to the forums! Sorry you are having troubles. You can order the CD's from Logos, but it will not help the indexing in any way.

As Richard suggested, it would be helpful to know the specs of your computer:

1. What processor, ram, etc.
2. How big is the Hard Drive? How much free space?
3. What is the Operating System?
4. What Base Package did you purchase?
5. Do you know if you have fully downloaded the resources?
