Best place to go in the forums for a Greek Text question

Where is the best place to post a greek text question within the logos forums or even outside?  I know there used to be a Greek forum back in the Logos 3 days. Thank you,  John Parker

Hi John. If your Greek question is "How to I answer this question about Greek using Logos", or "I'm using Logos and I don't understand this about some of the results Greek", or "What's your advice on resource X in Logos", then either post in General, or in one the the specific Logos fourms (4 Windows, 4 Mac or Libronix).

If your question doesn't really involve Logos, it's best to post to another forum, such as B-Greek: http://www.ibiblio.org/bgreek/forum/

I think Mark was pointing out that this forum concentrates on Logos and that's the reason it is maintained by the Logos Company (and works nearly unmoderated). Personally, I firmly believe you could get good and fast answers to grammar questions here - but look at this from another angle: Most posters here will point you to Logos fearures and resources where you can find answers to your questions (maybe even conflicting ones).

Let's imagine you want to know whether word XYZ in 3rd Thess 27:15b is in subjunctive mood or not, or whether its aorist form is relevant for the exegetical meaning of the sentence. Here as well as in good Greek forums you may be provided with a quick answer that may help you to solve your immediate problem (think of it as a fish).

If there are diverse opinions on this, experts and other users may discuss the yes/no arguments in considerable detail and verve on other forums - this is against the usage rules here (even though these are handled flexible). However, the Logos users are most likely to point you to a variety of resources where this question has come up, how various commentaries, lexicons etc have treated this question, give you instructions on how to find this in Greek grammar resources, use the interlinears and morphologies provided by Logos (and: be critical of them!), use the Logos features such as morph and lemma search, visual filters, sentence diagrams etc etc to find an answer to your grammar question. Think of Logos as a fish trawler and this forum is the place to go if you want to know how to catch fish with the multitude of nets and other tools you have (or could have) on board.

Absolutely. Ask here if you have questions involving Logos, or want answers involving Logos.
