Yes. [:P]Let's stop filling General with off-topic rubbish - somebody re-direct this discussion before it fills our minds and ears with 'any man' dogma and heresy [:D] Then we can concentrate on the real nitty gritty of the Libronix product. Sounds like a good idea!
I stop reading a thread once it appears to go off topic. I go to the thread and then immediately leave it in order to clear it from my unread list. The only problem I have with this is that I might miss some on-topic comments. Please add an "off-topic" forum or take off topic discussions to some other venue.
Thanks,
Floyd
1. Off Topic 2. Exegetical Discussions 3. Topical Discussions Right now I would love to see how other Logos users would compare/contrast the manuscripts regarding the interpretations of "any man" 1 Corinthians 7:36-38. Traditional scholars refer to the "father" while more modern translations are using the "betrothed' (fiance). Right now - and especially in light of the recent edgy discussions that are in fact off topic according to the forum rules this type of community discussion would not be aloud, but I'm hoping that a special category (and rules modification) would be suitable. Thank you, Mitch Davis
Great suggestion!
I do have one honest, sincere question: Where can I find these forum rules everybody keeps mentioning? I did not know there is an official list. Maybe it is a carry-over from the newsgroups culture. (I have been made aware of a lot of reader imposed rules.) I do remember Phil Gons recently posting a "keep on Logos" admonition.
I think creation of additional catagories would allow the rowdy ones (me included) to take the scuffle outside.
The idea that people using a product with the capabilities and content, the inspired Word of God, would be so moved as to discuss technical details of the content, completely ignoring the more interesting and essentials of the capabilities is unthinkable.
The problem with this concept of going beyond the basics of capabilities and moving into the temptuous intricacies of the actual content seems over the top; I am not convinced that I would be able to hold my tongue, I fear I would succumb to the temptation and indeed post in the "off-topic" fourm.
God bless you and keep you,Ken
Right now... this type of community discussion would not be aloud
That was unintentionally punny [:P]
Mitch
This whole idea could lead to the intolerable; people, discussing the Word of God with each other, sharing and learning from each other, anarchy!
Even worse; these discussion could lead to a better Logos, that would be unthinkable!
People might explain things like here is the scripture, the exegesis and the methods I used with Logos to come to these conclusions; then the unthinkable happens, they ask the question, am I interpreting this scripture correctly?
Ultimately leading to an "Off Topic" discussion concering; language, exegesis, doctrine and scriptural proofs - NO!
