So as a follow up to this because the article doesn;t mention anything... when you "hide" a book, does it also remove it from search results when you do a search, or does it still search all those resources but only show your "active" books.
That would certainly encourage me to hide some books, but I'd hate to "hide" a book and then completely lose any ability to use it, ya know? Because I'd be worried that there'd be that one search when I wished it had been "unhidden".

Carmen - You have given me the perfect opportunity to get up on my soapbox:
Alabama24's Soapbox said:Every time a discussion about "hiding" books comes up, I cringe. There is a serious problem with using the word "hide" to do what Logos does with "hidden" resources. Currently, when you "hide" a book, it removes the resource from your computer completely. I believe that Logos should use different nomenclature for this function: archive. When you "hide" a book, you archive it in the sense that you remove the book from your library, but you have Logos maintain the license for you. If you determine you need to book at a later date, you can bring it back out of the archive. The book is not "hidden" from your library - it's physically removed!
This brings me to part two of my Soapbox rant (said in the nicest of ways). I believe that Logos should have a "hide" feature, but significantly different than what is meant by "hide" presently. I would like to see the ability to "hide" resources as a kind of reverse prioritization. In my dream world, you would be able to "hide" a resource and it would go to the back of the line, so to speak. When you did a search, it would not pop up at the top of the list. Perhaps "hidden" resources would appear in a collapsed section during a search so that you can view them if you want, but they are out of sight, out of mind most of the time. Also, they would be in a "hidden" view in the library so that things are less cluttered.
OK. My rant is over. [:)]
To answer your question, yes, "hiding" books removes it from search results.

Spawned an idea => Search Suggestion: filter or group results by resource Rating

As Shakespeare might say, "A 'hide' by any other name would be as invisible.

For an Alabama boy, you do some sense. [;)]
I agree. That would be nice. Also, the words "hide" and "delete" are not synonymous in my mind. Then again, my mind is somewhat strange.

Totally agree with this suggestion. You are right, the feature should be called "archived" for what "hide" does now. And a new feature should be added to allow a demoted status... and perhaps a non-listed status as well.
Every once in a while, a rant is a good thing.
