Have I really been slacking this long...have footnotes always been in reading view? I never noticed them before that I can remember but I think this is great!
I'm not a beta tester but it's been on the forum for a couple weeks (MJ I think had the first screen shot). I agree pretty neat and controllable from the resource panel.

This feature was introduced in 4.5 B1 - and it is very nice!
