Advantages between Notes and Clippings

I'm new from Logos 3 to Logos 4. I'm not quite sure of the advantage or disadvantage between a Note and a Clipping.

Am I correct in this:

1. A Note will add a marker next to a text to which it refers; Clippings does not do this.

2. Clippings is formatted to look like an index card will full bibliographical info.

If this is all there is, then the only advantage of Clippings seems to be the index card. The marker may be helpful.

Is there anything else? Have I missed anything?

The main difference is source material: For notes, you are providing your thoughts and ideas and appending them to the text. For clippings, you are copying the content from the text into a format convenient for later use.

You can tag clippings and add note to them. They are convenient for gathering all your source materials for a research topic under the one file. Once you are ready to prepare more detailed notes you have your narrowed down material, with and thoughts you may have had when you first came across the article or quote.

Since you are mentioning notes and clippings I will also suggest that you create Alphabetical Folder in Favorites to contain and organize your notes and clippings.
