unable to access info

I have downloaded the software for the 4th time now. It downloads and then does it's indexing. After several attempts to get the software to run, all I get is the spinning beach ball. The Portfolio edition takes several hours to download and 48 hours to index. HELP

Where are you seeing the spinning beach ball? Is there another message on the screen?

What are your specs? Including version of Windows. I'm sure the portfolio version will take a long time to index - there's lots in it and if you are going from a small base pack to it there's lots of GB's of resources. If you are in Vista or W7 and indexing is background it can take days, unless you leave your machine alone.

Also, I'd suggest following Bradley's instructions here: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/3303/25171.aspx#25171 to activate logs and save and post them so they can see what's happening.

I am running a MAC with Dual Quad core 3.2 GHz processors, 32 GB 800DDR RAM and 4 TB RAID 0. with a 5 mbs download. took another 8 hour download, 48 hours to index, runs once, spinning beach ball. This is after the icon goes away saying that it is indexing. I tried to do a search for John, and never ran again. Now downloading to a spare MAC Book Pro. Not impressed so far guys.

Are you doing the Mac Alpha or Windows VM?

If in the Mac Alpha, go to the Mac Beta. Even if Windows VM, you might be better off there as the hard core Mac folks are there.

I can't help you. Sounds like a problem, maybe with a corrupt file or something. Those specs sound WOW. But if it is Mac Alpha you have to remember it is Alpha and the developers need to know about every problem to help them in the process. So, again, if so, go to Mac Beta forum.

I am doing the Mac Alpha. I wish they would let me try a "cheaper version. I think there is just too much data for the a program to handle right now.

I am running a MAC Quad core 3.2, 32 GB RAM, 4TB on RAID 0. is is possible to try a smaller version than the portfolio edition. There may just be way too much info for the alpha to handle right now
