This is the first time I have ever posted and unsolicted recommedation of a book or resource. Last Friday I purchased "Why Churches Die: Diagnosing Lethal Poisons in the Body of Christ".
I am a little more than half-way through it now and felt compelled to recommend it. IMHO it is well written and really gets to the heart of some of the issues we face as a collective body. Some of the issues addressed may hit home; some may "step on your toes" a little; and all are conditions we can relate to in one way or another.
I am a pastor in a small, rural, Southern Baptist church located in the bible belt. This book has captured my attention.
While it discusses the reality many of us face each day in the church; it also provides encouragement and hope for people who may be struggling with one or more of these issues. As a pastor who has struggled in ministry as a result of these realities, it has been both enlightening and encouraging.
I encourage you to consider getting this book. It is well worth the $12.99 price tag.
