Pre-Pub Question

On average how long does it take from when a pre-pub goes "live" until it becomes a purchase, and is unlocked for a person who ordered in it's pre-pub stage?
Thanks.

Could take months, sometimes years. It depends on the popularity of the item. Some have been done quickly and others not

Hi Mark,
I'm talking about after it has already started shipping, how long to fulfillment from that point?
Thanks,
Paul

After it started shipping or after it goes live? If after it started shipping, it should be like any other order. If you mean after it goes live, it would then be treated as a prepub. So the answer is the same as any prepub. Some take a long time and some take a short time

Bad terminology on my part, I apologize. I mean exactly this:
I placed a bid on it in community, it went into development, and was added to my pre-pub orders, it is now available for download and purchase.
How long does it usually take to become an actual purchase in one's account, as well as receive an unlock for it?
Sorry to be a bother, it's just that it's my first pre-pub
Thanks,
Paul

No bother, Paul. When a prepub is ready, you will receive an email that tells you your cc has been charged and it is ready to download. In the email will be an attachment. Click on the attachment and you immediately get the file delivered to you. There is no unlock or anything.
So the procedure is that it is first a prepub. When it is ready, you receive an email informing you that the cc was charged and you can download the product.
I hope this helps

Hi Mark,
Thanks for the info. Do you have any ideal on the time frame? It's been out a few days, and it is still sitting in my pre-pub orders. I would have thought that the whole thing was automated.
Thank-Again,
Paul

Which prepub are you talking about? If you paid for it, it should be immediate and perhaps you should call Logos about it. But tell me which resource you are talking about so I or someone else can confirm that you should have it by now or not

Quite a few titles have gone LIVE this past week. My guess is they still only process one batch at a time. The in-house handling probably requires freezing last minute order changes to avoid mistakes. Declaring it LIVE stops new automated orders at the pre-pub price and last second cancellations. Then they have to verify all cc charges are successful before sending the download email. Many of my Pre-Pubs have been designated LIVE for several days before shipping.
I received one title Friday, three more today. and The Christian Doctrine of Justification and Reconciliation, by Albrecht Ritschl listed as LIVE.

Ok. I understand better. I have not received this title yet either. "Live" does not mean it is ready. That is how I would answer your question. On this title you mentioned, my cc has not yet been charged. When it is charged, you will receive an email. The dates that you see on your prepub orders page are not always correct. This particular title should be ready any day now. We just have to wait for the email. Sometimes I hear someone got a product that I am still waiting for and a few days later, I get it. Dont know why that is...possible Logos just needs time to process all orders. But again, on this one you mentioned, it is LIVE, but it apparently is not ready.
