Users on MAC cannot access proclaim

I installed proclaim on my IMAC under administrative user however all standard users cannot open proclaim. When they go to the applications folder it is there but no logo just the pieces of paper with pencils on the bottom right hand corner. When they click it acts like its going to open but does not. Called Apple and it is not a permissions problem on their side. Tried to reinstall under a standard user but says there is already a newer version of proclaim installed.

I'm having the same problem. I'm running a Mac Mini. proclaim runs perfectly in the Admin Account however, when I log in as a different user, the above listed problem occurs, where it tries to launch, but will not. i am running the latest updated version of Lion if that helps. Also, in my settings under parental controls I have enabled and allowed all users to use all apps, but that has not resolved this issue. Likewise, Apple's tech support, believes the issue is on Proclaim's end, they believe that the code was written in such a way, that it requires full Admin permission to run the application, if that's the case that's problematic, as we are trying to keep this computers use limited because of it public location in the sanctuary.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention! There is a permissions problem that should be fixed in the next release.

In the meantime, if you wish to effect a repair yourself, you can easily do so. Logged in to the administrator account (or whomever originally installed Proclaim), go to the terminal and run the following command:

sudo chmod 644 /Applications/Proclaim.app/Contents/Info.plist

You will be asked for your password. Enter it and, as is the norm in unix-world, no output means no problem: you should be good to go.

Thank you for the quick response, unfortunately for some reason it didn't work. After I went through the steps in terminal that you outlined, instead of seeing "no output" instead I saw a bunch of what looked like code that I couldn't understand. After that I went ahead and logged into a secondary user, Proclaim attempted to launch from the launch pad, I got a message that said, "You do not have permission to use this" it asked me if I wanted to "always allow," or "allow once." I answered "always allow." Then it seemed like Proclaim was going to launch, then it disappeared from the launch pad and would not launch. I then went back into terminal and tried to repeat the process, however the second time around once terminal asked me for my password, it wouldn't allow me even type any keys to enter the password. I even tried to type it first in pages and copy and paste it into terminal, but no luck.

I'm going out of town this tomorrow, so I will just have to let my A/V guy use my log in account this weekend. I just wanted to give you some feedback.

Thank you for getting back to me. I'm sorry our fix didn't work for you. It's hard to know what might be different between your machine and our test platform. Thanks for trying.

We are planning to push out a release soon, possibly tomorrow, that should fix this issue.

I am still having the same problem. When i go to a different user it appears as it there but i get the papers and the pencils. THis is after all the updates.

Can you post the Proclaim.log that is generated when you try to run as a different user?

It should be in /Users/user_name/Library/Application Support/Proclaim/Logging/Proclaim.log, where user_name is the name of your user.
