Open L4 to a specific layout

When I close Logos after sermon prep it typically has dozens of tabs open, and sometimes multiple windows. When I open it next time, I would like to open to a fresh Bible+Reading Plan layout, but unfortunately, L4 "remembers" the cluttered view from the past.

Now, I know I can manually change layouts, but it does not seem to be a very convenient way. I really appreciated Libronix' customizations that gave users CHOICES (last used workspace, specific layout, blank layout). I envision a checkbox in the layouts menu - "use at startup" - very clean and simple to implement (I believe).

I must admit that I prefer that, especially when L4 crashes and I get an "old" layout on restarting it. I spend more time closing tabs than I did with L3, where you could "save" the workspace if you wanted to keep the changes.

actually, L3 gave us 5 choices:

Save/update Layout without needing to remember its name / Name of layout in title bar has 505 votes

Provide option to have Logos open to a disignated layout has 49 votes

You could open to a blank layout (press and hold shift while opening the program, then check the box for blank layout). It is not ideal, but it does mean that you don't have to wait while each of the previous resources is opened, which might save time. You still then need to select your preferred layout.

Alternatively, select the new layout before you shut down after sermon preparation.

Since sermon preparation tends to have a weekly cycle, wonder about usefulness of Logos 4 opening to a layout based on day of the week ?

Hmmm. I like this idea. One can use the same underlying "engine" as with Bible reading plans with layouts being in the drop down menu... Nah, it would be TOO COOL for Logos to implement [;)]

What next? L4 ordering coffee and pizza online when we come across a "difficult" passage in the Bible or flowers for my mom if I work on Mother's Day message?

I have a "startup" layout which I have saved as bookmark number nine. (tols->favorites, then drag the layout you want over bookmark number x
(e.g. 9)
and drop it.) Whenever I'm about to quit logos and know that
next time i start logos
I want to open my startup layout I press ctrl+9 and wait for the layouts to change before quiting. I too would love this to be automated, but my solution works pretty well for me now.

Below is a picture of my startup layout. It's nothing like what you described but it may be helpful for someone. As you see it's pretty much a gateway to the rest of Logos (the top four favorites are my most commonly used "template layouts")

There's plenty of ingenuity out there.
