Cross Version Bible Markups

Not exactly John, not in a permanent way.

Sympathetic highlighting will do that in a "live" fashion though.

If you'll open your two bibles side by side and highlight one of them with a cursor drag, the second will show a sympathetic highlight. But cross version markup is not part of the current offering.

I often highlight as a read through my Bible reading plan. I am getting used to the idea of using clippings, which seems like a simple way of collecting verses on a particular topic. I also enjoy highlighting as a read. One struggle I have though is that I often switch through versions just to get different perspectives. I would like to setup Logos so that if I highlight John 3:16 in the NRSV when I open the ESV the verse will still be highlighted. Is there a way to do this?

Yes, it was my suggestion some time ago, however I realize with the ability to highlight just one word or any fraction of the text, It is impossible to keep it in more than one resource. It would have to be a special type of highlighting, where it would be possible to do that just in the Bible and only whole verse. Yes, it might be useful. I doubt however it would be a great priority in Logos these days :-)

This is a feature I would really like to see. I think the key to being able to make it show up in multiple versions is, as Tom has said, the reverse interlinear text and the wonderful new sympathetic highlighting feature. Seems like an option to make this kind of highlighting permanent, perhaps as a visual markup, would be a logical and doable next step. If I could do this, I would be more inclined to use Logos for my personal daily devotional reading (where I often underline), and I think I would generally use highlighting a lot more often. I just don't like the idea of all the work I put into highlighting being tied to one particular version.

This is my first post, and I'd just like to say a big "thank you" to the Logos team for making such a wonderful tool - Logos 4. This version really is impressive, and I think I'll use it more than I did version 3. I think it's even straight-forward enough compared to the last version that I can get my wife to try it out...

Nah. Because I lived in the States, I'm used to people thinking that that's the normal spelling.

Much worse is people over there who pronounce the "th" at the end of my last name - for the love of everything that is good - it's an Irish name - the "c", the "t" and the "h" are all silent........

Anyway, there are much greater problems in the world than how people spell my name.

Phonetically,something like that.

Every time I said my last name in the US they would spell back McGraw - so I'd spell my name and they'd say "McGraTH" and I'd say "No. McGrath" and they'd spell McGraw.... and on and on. In the end, I just gave up and pronounced it the American way...

Back to the subject: I think your idea with using the underlying interlinear text Thomas is genius (well, may be a bit too strong word... [:P] ) If Logos would do that, I think it would add some really unexpected value to whole thing of highlighting. My, I really like that. I spoke about that already in the days of v3, but realized it is no easy way for that. But using the common background of Greek and Hebrew for all the Bibles, that's something else. Wonderful. I think even George would like that kind of usage of the interlinear text [:)]
