Odd request for assistance in finding...

Greetings, and best wishes for 2012!

I have used Logos version 1.6f as a separate Bible program for some 17 years. Even though I also possess many up-to-date Logos and Libronix programs (that cost nearly $1400), I still use my "ancient" 1.6 version (including KJV, NIV, NKJ NCV, Treasury Cross References and Naves Topical) more than the rest combined. The DEAD SIMPLE interface and user friendliness of the discontinued version only took me about 40 minutes to master. (I have spent over 40 hours learning to use the updated versions, but have always reverted to what works easiest.) I have long since put my original 3.5" diskettes on CD.

My request is that I would VERY MUCH like to obtain or buy additional helps and translations compatible with version 1.6 or 1.6f. I have sought to do this for the past 8-9 years, but all of the folks I have talked to that previously owned version 1.6 have told me that they discarded their diskettes years ago.

If you know of anyone that can help me obtain additional helps, maps or translations compatible with version 1.6 or 1.6f. at a reasonable cost, please let me know... here or please email me at prayingd@hotmail.com.

BTW - I called LOGOS several times from 2002-2005, and I was repeatedly told that they could not help with this request... but would be happy to sell me updated programs (which I subsequentioly paid $$$ for, and use perhaps once a month).

Wow, Dennis!

I just ASSUMED that Libronix3 was the easiest and most speedy Logosian version this side of the Columbia.

I guess I was wrong. But I do indeed keep my disks. I thought it was a bit nutty until just a couple weeks ago I needed a specific L3 version and it was on one of the disks. I'd been using our old CDs for our dog Pochi.

We all dislike change to some degree. Leaving something we are familiar with and comfortable with is not easy. But I highly encourage you to spend your time in study using Logos 4. If you keep going back to 1.6 the break with the past will never happen. The amount of study you can do, including using the resources you can't with your current version, will eventually pay off manifold. The longer time that passes the less likely it will be that you can find resources. I hope and pray you move forward with this remarkable resource God has placed in your hands. Check out the numerous free videos, especially those by Mark Barnes, that will get you moving with this wonderful tool.

The problem is also that many would have moved onto Libronix or Logos 4 as they retain the licences for those resources, most of which are available to them in the newer formats from Logos servers.

I think you need to move forward, at least to Libronix 3, as it is still possible to get product CD's at extremely reasonable prices.
