Jesus is not a historical person - maybe he is - maybe He isn't ???

Thought you might want to take a look at this book. Not really for the faint of heart or anyone who vacillates between, "was He or wasn't He."

"Quest" types will enjoy it,

"Liberals" (what does that mean?) will say 'good job'

"Evangelicals" will want more to help them in their insecurities

"Mythos-types" will be disappointied with the reaction to Prices' presentation from the other presentees.

All in all - great intro to the 3rd quest study of Him Who doesn't exist but in the minds of historical records.

Looks like an interesting book. I might have to get the Kindle version since Logos doesn't have a copy of it.

It's interesting the order in which the book is presented. It starts with the scholar who believes Jesus was not a historical person at all, and then presents 4 rebuttals, going from liberal to conservative, as if it's building to a more favorable position. I wonder if that was the author's intent or the publisher's request? I tend to be wary of theological agendas, but perhaps I'm reading too much into a table of contents! [:)]

This book sounds like a very interesting read. Short and sweet covering the major positions. Plus, it is relatively cheap.

Have you read any of Meier's books? I found his writings to be very interesting too - though rather expensive.

No I don't think ur reading into the order of presentations - I do believe it's the publishers 'agenda' (too hard of a word?) or scheme to format a book with the extreme (depending on your viewpoint) first, then, the soft-sell last.

Just like Paul (who?) when he chided churches - build them up, tell them what they're doing great in - and then hit them with an "oh by-the-way" you might want to consider doing this way instead.

Pick up the book in Kindle - really cheap - read it pick it apart and be more informed. At least we/you/anyone can be more informed about the issue.
