Notes - suggestion

I would like to see the ability to add a Note in a simple "pop-up" window. For instance, right click a word or verse or section, and have an "add-note" choice. From there, instead of opening the notes window in a separate tab, a simple pop-up window would appear and you could choose the file, color, and then simply add text into the window.

This would expedite the ability to make a note as you are reading through a text, and then later, open the Note file and view all of the notes with more robust editing and options.

So many times I think of making a Note, but the clunkiness of opening another tab, or worse yet, having to go to file menu and select the proper note, makes this more trouble than it is worth (IMHO).

1) Is that possible in the current program?

2) Is there a way to capitalize on the "footnote" pop-ups that are already built in... same idea, just have it open a blank wind that could be edited.

3) Has this already been suggested and I just couldn't find it in the forums?

Thanks for a great program!

I initially shared your concern, but have changed my workflow to streamline notetaking.

Your major concern seems to be with speed. But if you have a notefile already opened before Bible reading, all of the issues disappear. It is like remembering to get the pen before starting to read the Bible.

I used to have a separate notefile for each book of the Bible, but since notes are sortable canonically, there is no need for that (unless file size becomes an issue). You can create a layout where Logos loads up a Bible and a notefile side by side, then it is even more convenient to interact with the Biblical text and your notes, than a pop-up window.

Logos 4.5 RC 1 has highlighting and notes combined along with right click option to choose note file from open list:

In Logos 4.5 RC 1, selecting something, then applying highlighting automatically creates a note file with highlighting palette name.

By the way, Logos 4.5 RC 1 is noticeably more responsive in places.
