Bug: "Today's Reading" link not working in Carson's "For the Love of God"
This may be well-known already. I'm using the M'Cheyne reading plan as D. A. Carson follows it in his "For the Love of God" devotional book. On the PC, the "today's reading" link in the table of contents and on the title page jumps straight to the entry for today's date (e.g. Jan 4). However, this doesn't work when I'm reading that book on the iPad. Pressing the link does nothing.
FYI...

Hi Donnie
And there's me thinking that I was the only one.
However when I touch the links on the iPad a pop up appears with the first verse and a link 'Jump to reference' – which duly jumps to reference in the bible I have linked alongside.

In case I wasn't clear, on the PC the "Today" link goes to that day within Carson's book. This doesn't happen on the iPad. I haven't tested the verse links on a particular day to see if they bring up the verse in the appropriate bible (e.g. Genesis 4:1 on today, Jan 4).

Probably my poor reading Donnie
My plan will not sync to the iPad as I am running the Beta on the Desktop machines so I cannot test your scenario here.

Mike,
With Carson's book, you don't need a Logos reading plan. "For the Love of God" has the reading plan inside it (probably worth looking at the resource - it's the M'Cheyne reading plan with a 1 page devotion on the day's readings by Carson). It has a feature that's cool on the PC where the book's table of contents has a "Today" link that goes straight to the correct date within the book. Unfortunately that cool and useful feature isn't working when I read the book on my iPad.
Sorry I wasn't more clear...

Hi Donnie
You are right, the iPad 'Today' link doesn't function. It does on my desktop iMac.
I have the M'Cheyne reading plan set up on the desk top. The reading plan ensures that the bible (am I using the 2011 NIV this year) is open to the right first passage - and moves smoothly to the next passage - in one panel. The Bible is linked to both volumes of 'For the Love of God' in a second panel ensuring that they move to the right day. I was assuming that you were doing something similar.
Sorry for the confusion - You were right in what you said in your first post.

I've experienced the same thing on the IPOD Touch when opening a Lectionary. The "Today's Reading" shows up on the screen but when you click it nothing happens. Actually it looks like when you click on "Today's reading" it opens a search window. I've tried several different lectionaries. I tried ones downloaded to my IPOD and others that were not downloaded to my IPOD - same result. If anyone's found a way to get these to work I'd appreciate hearing from you.
Thanks
Greg Rose
