Error (in my opinion) Creating Proverbs Reading Plan

I want to create a reading plan for Proverbs. I want my reading plan to be a chapter or two a day, every day of the year.

I created a text file (see attached), without line breaks, of 366 entries representing a chapter or two a day for 2012.

The text file looks like this: Proverbs 1; Proverbs 2; Proverbs 3; . . . Proverbs31. there are 12 sets of the Proverbs 1-31, one for each month. Some entries are 2 chapters to makeup for the less than 31 days months. I makeup for the missing days by reading 2 chapters on some Saturdays. Those entries look like this: . . . Proverbs 22; Proverbs 23; Proverbs 24-25; Proverbs 26; . . . Proverbs 31;. So, in the end I have a long string of 366 entries, one entry for each day of the 2012 year. I paste the string of entries into the reading plan dialog, New Reference Range, give it a Title (Proverbs Daily) and click "Save" and then click "Go.".

My problem: Logos doesn't create a reading plan with a chapter (or two) a day for each day of the year. There are some days when the plan calls for reading partial chapters. For instance, the first seven readings for January are Proverbs 1, Proverbs 2:1-3:12, Proverbs 3:13-35, Proverbs 4, Proverbs 5:1-6:19, Proverbs 6:20-7:27, Proverbs 8.

How do I force the plan to be a chapter or two a day for each day of the year?

Thanks,

Jon

  • Wonder if reading Proverbs in 372 sessions looks better ? 372 = 12 * 31

    Hi Jon & Lilly,

I had the same problem.  Here's a workaround I just thought up to solve it.  For example, I want to read the Old Testament once this year, the New Testament twice, and a daily Proverbs chapter.  Here's my reading plan parameters (for 2014 - notice, the second Proverbs range needs to match how many days are in February when it changes between 28 and 29 days):

    Ge-Ps, Ec-Mal | Mt-Re, Mt-Re | Pr 1-31, Pr 1-28, Pr 1-31, Pr 1-30, Pr 1-31, Pr 1-30, Pr 1-31, Pr 1-31, Pr 1-30, Pr 1-31, Pr 1-30, Pr 1-31
