Help! I upgraded from Libronix 2 to 3.0g and all my resources are gone!

I haven't used my Logos software in a while and thought there was an updated. I was running version 2 (from the DVD). I upgraded to 3.0g, but all my resources are gone! When I try to put them back on (Tool, Library Management, Location Manager) I select "All on Removable Media" and have my disk in, but it says, "All resources have been copied to your hard drive" but when I go into "My Library" hardly anything is there (only a few things)! What gives? Even when I look in my c:\program files\Libronix DLS\Resources, its only 28MB full. Before the update, it had TONS of stuff and was over 4GB big! What happened?! Can anyone help?

Did you copy your L2 license? If it was on your HD, and installed in the default install location, an L3 install should have picked it up.

I can't speak to the matter of installed resources being missing, something sounds wrong there.

I would suggest getting a hold of Logos tech support either by email (support@logos.com) or by calling the number on the upper right of the Logos web site.

When I upgraded it, it automatically uninstalled Libronix then installed the 3.0g update. It did the automatically and I couldn't choose any other option. Now all my resources are gone.

Installing Libronix, does not uninstall Logos2. If that happened, you have another problem.

If you had Logos2 installed to the default location, installing Libronix will find and update it's licenses to what you had in Logos2.

It appears that you installed everything to the correct location (to C:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources, right?), if after doing that you still don't have them something else went wrong.

Please try the following before trying again:

Go to this thread and get the patch to make Libronix compatible with IE9: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/30926.aspx

Then run the following scripts:

Update LDLS Addins
http://www.logos.com/media/update/LogosAddinsAutoUpdate.lbxupd

Update LDLS DataFile types
http://www.logos.com/media/update/DataFilesAutoUpdate.lbxupd

Then open Libronix with your L2 DVD in the DVD tray and move all your resources to the default location again (let's see if it works this time).

Then close and reopen Libronix and let it finish starting up. Are your resources there yet?

If so, close Libronix again and run the following script to update your resources:

Update LDLS Resources
http://www.logos.com/media/update/ResourceAutoUpdate.lbxupd

Let us know how or if this worked.

Paul ... I haven't ever upgraded from Logos2 but what you're talking about is similar to what I experienced just installing Libronix3 ... after I loaded everything, tried the Location Manager, etc, almost nothing showed in my Library. I had previously restored my license file and copied the Libronix resource into the Resources directory. Normally just a re-start of Libronix gets it going, but this time no-go ... nada.

The problem turned out to be in Tools > Options > General > Resource Paths

First, make sure the listed directory is indeed where you put the Libronix3 installation. The normal path for Windows is c:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources. If you are using Windows 64, it would be c\Program Files(x86)\Libronix DLS\Resources.

Assuming the path above, go to that directory and make sure the resources are actually in that directory. If they're not, then our problem is with Logos2 and Richard needs to 'remember those days'!

But if you find the resources in the directory, then click on the 'Refresh Resouces' button which is located below the path shown above (Tools > Options > General > Resource Paths. That clears Libronix of a possible thinking problem. Then restart Libronix again and check your library.

If this doesn't work, we'll try some sleuthing or by that time Australia-Dave will have woken up and have the correct answer.
