i've bought a new computer and had nothing but trouble getting logos 4 on it. first, it kept crashing, so i uninstalled it, deleted the anti-virus software which seemed the cause, and reinstalled.

once reinstallation was done and i started logos again all of the materials i had purchased were gone.

when i went to the logos site to see what to do, it simply said that everything i've purchased would automatically appear. not so. instead, logos 4 has once again crashed during the 'preparing your library' stage.

it's quite annoying. i have no intention of uninstalling and reinstalling it again. so what's a simple fix for an annoying failure of the software to install properly, index properly, and work properly?

If you have not already done so, perhaps the best solution would be to call Logos tech support and have one of their people walk you through until there is successful installation. Possibilities are numerous as to what could make an installation fail.

One crash is too many; one option is contacting Logos Technical Support => http://www.logos.com/about/contact who are available Monday - Friday.

Without diagnostic and setup logs, have no idea what to suggest. Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

Also, wiki has Getting Started with Logos => Installation + Indexing

We need to see some logs. Please read the wiki carefully http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging and upload logos4.log, logos4Indexer.log after the crash.

Jim - just to make sure we are on the same page - when you write: "once reinstallation was done," do you mean the installation of the software only, or do you mean: "After I downloaded the software, entered the correct username & password, let Logos automatically download my resources, let Logos automatically index, then still it didn't work!"
