BUG - Logos does not know the date

In the released version Logos Bible Software 4.3 SR-8 (4.30.0.1624)
We are still seeing item on specials on the home page that ended a week ago
For us that could not partake that is cruel and unusual punishment

Please insure that this major bug has been fixed in 4.5 - thanks

Have you tried hitting "F5" (or refreshing the page)? Are they still there?

I do have 4.5, and while I see some old blogs on pp 2 & 3 that refer to Christmas specials, I don't see any Christmas specific deals on p.1.

I did - and I often see expired offers on the home page ... something that is on my top 5 pet peeves. the other 4 pet peeves: the layout doesn't display the layout name; Morning and Evening insists on displaying even though it is not a prioritized resource; no icon and highlighting share an icon in notes; I can't search on hymn title.

It's one of the three internally prioritized resources. If you want to bump it out you've got to prioritize at least three other calendar devotionals. Not intuitive. And besides, there should be a way to remove one of the built-in devotional prioritizations without putting three more in of your own. Suppose you only want ONE devotional to show up on your home page? There's no way to do that currently other than hiding all the rest of them.

That's why it's a pet peeve ... I have The Lives of the Fathers and Amazing Grace ... but until I convert a prayer list to a devotional I don't have any others I want to see. Morning and Evening AND My Utmost for His Highest think I need to see them.

1. We know this is filed at UserVoice (http://logos.uservoice.com/forums/42823-logos-bible-software-4/suggestions/659803-save-update-layout-without-needing-to-remember-its).

2. I saw your other post on this. Just like with Bibles (and all other Keylink destinations), we append the default list of resources to the list you have manually prioritised. I assume you like (or can tolerate [:)]) Morning and Evening enough not to hide it, but not enough to see it on the home page?

3. This is by design. Highlighting is Notes. A note indicator icon is just a visual choice you can apply to each individual note/highlight. (And a default that is chosen by whether you add one via the "Add a note" command or the Highlighting panel.)

4. Are you talking about searching within a specific hymnal (or collection of hymnals)? Or searching across the library for all references to hymn titles? Or something else?

They are peeves because they're small continuous annoyances not big problems.

I assume you like (or can tolerate ) Morning and Evening enough not to hide it, but not enough to see it on the home page?

For my purposes, I often need access to resources I personally have no interest in. So I need to see a number of devotionals for research that I would never use as devotionals. I find I am far less apt to actual read the front page if it expands to 2 or 3 pages - so the excess baggage decreases my actual use of the page.

Yes, I know it's by design but to me it is giving a single icon (box with red diagonal line) two separate meanings. It is either a note that I don't want to show an icon on OR a note that has a "highlight" as its icon. I'd like to be able to distinguish the two when glancing down a compact list of notes.

I don't know that anyone other than myself cares about this - but I'd like hymn title to be a datatype. Some commentaries refer to hymns; some devotionals refer to hymns; and of course there are the resources that are hymns or devotions based on them. One of my major uses for PB's is to add old American hymnals to my Logos collection as they often represent an artistic interpretation of Scripture. I'm starting with old text only hymnals - 1850 and earlier. I'll be asking about attaching tune files in a year or two. Many hymn titles work well with a basic search but others are common phrases that are difficult to select out of the mountain of matches.

Just got December deal ends tonight when the blog article is dated Jan 2. It's likely that the article chooser doesn't understand that this is an out-of-date offer, only that the article is 8 days old.
