Community Pricing

We have all noticed that recently volumes suddenly move into production from community pricing (after a week following the bidding closing) in situations where it is impossible for actual bidding to have pushed it into production. My assumption has always been that the costs have been reappraised which has rebased the bidding progress.

However with the sudden mentioning of Logos 5 are we perhaps seeing Logos pushing elements of the base packages into production theough CP in advance of the pallnned rollout of Logos 5, this being the reason why they are not letting the usual CP pricing process take its natural course?

If not why do titles suddenly just into production with no logical explanation?

Logos 5, if it exists at all in production, has not reached public alpha or beta stage. I don't think you've heard that Logos 5 is being developed at all by anyone at Logos. Correct me if I'm wrong. I'm sure they are discussing the design and features but we haven't heard of any code yet being generated. The next scheduled Logos release is 4.5 which should be out fairly soon.

The Logos 4 base packages did contain some previously released CP material (some of which I had). So, yes, there is a possibility Logos will do that again.

Since no explanation is given other than it reached the 100% level I'm not sure what you mean by 'logical explanation.' It may be what you are seeing is the discovery of a CP offering that excites a group of people who somewhat simultaneously discover and bid on it. To me the bidding reflects many more bidders than in the past but nothing too unusual. I don't think Logos is just pushing them out.

Logos 5 will support the same API as Logos 4.5; we don't have any API enhancements planned for the initial release of Logos 5.

It may be Logos recalculating the cost. It may be a professor who tells all his students to get this great commentary set which is only $50. It may be someone mentioning something on his blog, which then spreads like a bushfire through Twitter, Facebook, and word of mouth. There's usually an explanation, and these days with the internet, things can happen very fast.
