Ok it seems that I am indexed and that everything is working. However I cannot find my old notes prepared under L3. I can see them out there on my HD but when I try to open notes I only get a new blank note. Do I need to import them somehow?

Thank you for that link. It explains much. I use the notes pretty heavily and was afraid they were gone. Glad to see that will be back in the near future.

Now that you know where that page is (and I still refer to it frequently), apparently the importation of notes is very soon going to be possible. Bob has told us that they have it functioning in the next builds (4.0a) and that it will not over-write any notes you have in your 4.0 system now.
Do the new builds automatically download and install or must I do something manually?

Updates will automatically install. That said, it would not surprise me to see note import come as a standalone tool so people do not have to wait for 4.0a.
Joseph, new release builds will automatically download and install.
There will also be a public Beta, beginning before the end of the month. It is very possible that something like notes importing will first appear in the Beta and only be released into the regular build when it is guaranteed that there are no bugs (no data loss).
To clarify for the curious:
That means that even though Logos will not break anything on purpose - do NOT try the beta if you can't afford to lose your data. (or have great backups)
Beta's are unpredictable like that.
