Thanks to George I just found a link to the possibly most fabulous website I've ever seen: the Virtual World Project. You can pretty much walk around as you like in most of the major archaeological sites in Israel. 3-dimensional 360 degree views from a large number of spots -- and the quality of the photo is so high that, especially together with the zoom (and the lack of crowds!), it's sometimes better than actually being there.
