Reinstalling Logos after Windows upgrade

I'm planning to upgrade Windows on my PC from 32 bit Vista to 64 bit Windows 7. This involves using "Windows Easy Transfer" to take a backup of all files and settings before the upgrade and then transferring them back after upgrade and finally reinstalling applications.

I have a scholars library with quite a few additional resources. Is there any reason why this process wouldn't work with Logos 4? Should I use the Logos 4 application download on the logos.com/download page to reinstall?

I've not used Windows Easy Transfer so I can't comment from experience. It should work, but I don't have a %100 confidence in Microsoft products to rely on them %100. (YMMV) I did successfully and flawlessly upgrade from Vista 64 to Win7 64 without problems, though this did not involve W.E.T.

You may want to consider one of the quick reinstall methods mentioned in the WIKI as a 'back-up' option. You can find those options here: http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers

Thanks Richard - I'm afraid my confidence isn't 100% either! That's why it would be good to know if anyone has trodden this path before!

I can't speak from experience, but personally I wouldn't risk it. That's because Logos stores all of it's data, settings and its system files in basically the same place. I'd be concerned that when moving from a 32-bit OS to a 64-bit OS, there might be a potential for introducing an error.

What you might want to consider is copying the Logos 4 resources and index folder over to your new computer using WET, then doing one of http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers.
