troubleshooting personal book builder
I have the free upload of Logos and I am trying to create a personal
book for my pastor using personal book builder. He would like me to create a personal book
for him of his sermon notes so that he can use them as a resource.
So I
started by uploading his sermons after saving them as a docx. file (pc).
Then I clicked on “build a book” to “create Logos resource file” and it
seems as though it is thinking and working on compiling then a box pops
up and says “logos has stopped working” - options to click “check on
line solution to close program” or “close program”.
Any ideas of what
could be happening?

Note: Personal Book building adds a supplemental index so not know if can build a Personal Book in a Logos 4 library that has no resources.Wonder about adding free resources, let Logos 4 index them, then try rebuilding Personal Book.

After adding some resources, if Logos 4 crashes again, "close program", then I Would like to look at Logos 4 diagnostic logs. Also curious about Logos 4 version ?

Logos 4.5 Beta has better logging for Personal Book building; wiki has => Logos 4 Beta Program that includes download link. If install Logos 4.5 Beta, can post in PC Beta forum to discuss Personal Book building issue(s), etc.

Note: Personal Book building adds a supplemental index so not know if can build a Personal Book in a Logos 4 library that has no resources.
It has its own Index so a PB is not prevented from indexing successfully.
Logs will tell the story though.

Currently using version 4.3 SR-8 (4.30.0.1624).
I'm a little worried about upgrading to 4.5 Beta and creating something different/distinct from what we'll be able to replicate on his computer.
I'll try adding some resources, just in case.

Shannon, unless I am completely to be corrected, Personal Books are not at this present time synced to the Logos cloud, so Personal Books have to be built on each computer that Logos is installed on. I have Logos on a home computer and on a computer at work, and when I want to have Personal Books, I have to use the docx files and build them on each machine. Unless I'm totally mistaken, there is not a way to transfer them otherwise.

Understand concern. One option is creating another Windows account on your computer, which would allow stable and beta to be on same computer (using different users). Could create personal book using Logos 4.5 so can fix warnings/errors in docx file (using Personal Book log feedback). Once docx fixed, then could switch computer users to build using Logos 4.3 (matching version on his computer).
Another option for Logos 4.5 is waiting for stable release,perhaps later this month.
