Who is using handouts? How?
The Handouts feature is scheduled to be completely revamped, so I stopped bothering with it, even for testing purposes. The original version of the feature was pretty limited, IMHO. I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it in the new version. Don't know when that's supposed to show up, maybe Logos 4.6? Or maybe we'll have to wait for Logos 5?
TROY L I use the handout for various functions. One of the things that I do is when I am doing a series, I may choose to workup the topic and then list an outline with the main points. I then copy that into the handout from my Word document. I also have used the handout for song services if I have the need. Handouts has worked pretty well, but there is not any "helps" that I have found to work things into it. Mostly trial and alot of error. One of the problems that I have noticed is when you "paste" too much info that you will not be able to print it out. It runs over the limit of the one page in booklet form and does not tell you what the problem is. I have used the handouts for bible studies, small group, large group (costly) and a madrid of other things. It's all up to you. Hope this helps.
While celebrating the introduction of notes and highlighting on the iPad, I got to wondering about Handouts, which is near the top of my list for improvement. I really wouldn't know what to do with myself now if Logos got Handouts fixed.[:D]
My guess would be L5. I have nothing solid to base that on; I just don't see them doing much with that feature until then.
In my guesstimation, the major reason for L5 is getting out of WMP. I would not be surprised to learn that Logos is creating new L4 functionality with an eye on easy conversion of the code to L5. At least that is the way I'd do it - that may be a counter argument 'cause I often wouldn't do it as Logos has.[;)]
