Dumb question about Logos 3 resources Logos 4.

Okay - I already have Logos 3 and those resources installed. I just installed my new Logos 4. The FAQ says, "If you have already activated/unlocked your Logos 3 resources, Logos 4 will automatically download those resources from our servers along with the base package that you purchased." How do I absolutely know that the Logos 3 resources are downloaded? Also, is it safe to uninstall Logo 3? What about it's resources? Does uninstalling Logos 3 remove its 3's resources or are 3's resources added to 4's in 4's resource directory?

Paul,

1. Do you have what you think are all your Logos 3 resources now in Logos 4? (Has a download occurred?) Check Library which is accessed through the book icon in the upper left corner of Logos 4. You may have a few less resources in number than in Logos 3 due to how resources are handled in both systems and the fact that some L3 resources are not needed in L4.

2. If you are still not sure, you can run the SCAN command from the command bar. Type SCAN c:\{path to Libronix resources folder} then hit enter, close Logos 4 and reopen. It will then scan that folder and bring in resources that L4 may not already have.

3. You can delete L3 anytime you want. Be sure if you have note files you import them before removing Logos 3. You can scan the Logos 3 resource folder from Logos 4. It will grab any that are missed (first note how many resources you have in Library).

Locate the Command box at the top of L4's window:

1. type scan C:\Program Files (x86)\Libronix DLS ==>  I assume you are on Vista/Win 7 & this is where L3 is installed
2. click on the command repeated under Tools
3. restart L4

It will index any missing resources and your # resources in Library will increase.

Keep L3 for a while until you are sure that Logos 4 is working to your satisfaction and you have imported any Favorites, Notes, Highlights/Markup, Verse List, Prayer List, Sentence Diagram and Syntax Search from L3 (type Import All in the Command box to achieve this).

EDIT: prepare your Notes first as per the wiki article listed by Mark.

The resources of Logos3 and Logos 4 are entirely separate. Any time you want to import resources on a newly purchased CD you can install into Libronix, then Sync Licences and they will be picked up by Logos 4.

Thanks all. Yes, after the install, it has been downloading at lot (and wanting to restart Logos 4 each time). And now its been indexing - A LOT. It indexed, finished, restarted, and now its indexing again.
