NET Bible not available on mobile devices?

I have the Logos android app installed on my Kindle Fire.  I have Scholars Silver and cannot find the NET Bible to either download or read online via the android app.  I was surprised given the relatively liberal (no pun intended) copyright policy of the NET Bible.  Does anyone know why this resource is not available on the mobile devices?

All I know is that it's supposed to be available on mobile devices. I don't know the mobile app stuff well enough to be able to help you figure out why it isn't showing up on your Android app.

    Hi Michael

I can access the NET Bible on my Android device so its not a pure availability issue.

What version of the app are you using? (I am on 0.9.4 Beta 2 but I don't know if this will be relevant!)

Michael, I can access mine as well.  Does it come up in your library when you search net bible? Have you updated your library, and do other purchased books show up?

I am having the same problem. The net bible with the notes used to work great on my kindle fire but then it suddenly stopped working.  I would like to know of a solution because that was my primary use of the NET Bible.

    Hi Weston:

Welcome to the Logos Forums. In the future, it would be better to start a new thread for something like this, since our current problem isn't likely to be related to the 2012 problem.

If you are running Fire OS 5, I can replicate your issue. Logos on my Fire tablet (Fire OS 5; Logos Mobile 8.10.1) tells me 'an unknown error occurred opening resource'. I notice from the Desktop app that NET was updated three months ago and I probably have not attempted to open it on my tablet since then. It opens fine on my phone (Android 9) and the Desktop.

Fire OS 5 was dropped from the group of Android versions supported earlier this year and I think the last Logos app version that can be run is 8.10.1. One of the consequences warned of at the time is that some resources might be updated with features that would prevent the older mobile version from opening them. I believe that has happened.

I read that Amazon was now selling some Fire tablets with an Android 9 equivalent. I will be looking for deals on such this season. I read that Fire tablets sometimes employ old hardware technology, but I have a large number of Kindle books and the Fire can actually read most of them aloud. Imagine that!

I have two Kindles. On my 8th gen (2018), running Fire 7.3.1.5 (Android Pie based) and the Logos Bible app 8.12.8, the Net Bible shows up fine. But on my 7th gen (2017) that I honestly use mostly as an MP3 player in the car, running Fire 5.6.7.0 (Android Lollipop based) and Logos Bible 8.10.1, it gives the same error Robert Warren noted.

That said, the older tablet will open both the Noteless version of NET, as well as the separate Notes resources for which I have a license from ages ago - at least for now.

Thank you guys for your responses.  My problem was an update issue.  I have installed Google play on my kindle fire.  I had also disabled some of Amazon's credentials.  So I am not sure if Logos was installed from Google play or the appstore.  My guess is that it might not have been working properly because it may have been installed through google play.  When I updated it through the appstore, it started working again.

Glad it's working. If you updated the app, it's apparent that you have a Fire OS later than version 5.
