BUG: Version 2.0.1 crashes on startup
I was excited for the update only to find that it crashes on both my iPad 2 and iPhone 4.

I am seeing the same thing - the app crashing when I try and start it.
Logos, is there any diagnostic information we can provide to help get to the bottom of this?

Huh. No problems yet on my iPhone 4S.

Mine is working, but I did a hard reset of my iPad before relaunching. This might help. Blessings!

Huh. No problems yet on my iPhone 4s.
Hope it stays that way for you!
I am guessing it is something to do with resources I have downloaded but don't know.
Am reluctant to delete app and reinstall until getting some guidance from Logos

I just crashed running the passage guide on Jer 29:1 (original iPad running iOS 5.01)
...then the second time's the charm

Uninstalled app on iPhone, reinstalled and began re-downloading resources. Looked promising then crashed again.

Are you worried about having to re-download books? A new feature is "download all." This can also be used in a filtered situation (i.e. you can filter for Vyrso books and download just those).
A problem I encountered was my highlighting file, but that bug has already been fixed.

No. I deleted app again and the only resource I attempted to download again was the ESV when prompted at the outset. Crashed again.

Hi Alabama24
Are you worried about having to re-download books?
Partly concerned about this. But also wanting to hold back from doing this to see if there is any useful diagnostic information which Logos might require
A new feature is "download all.
Where is this accessed from? Will it bring back downloaded resources if I delete the app? Sounds like it should but just looking for verification.
Update: I can successfully access the app with the iPad in Airplane mode. As far as I can see, some of my highlights / notes have been copied but not all.

To access "download all," you may need to scroll up in the library. In my screen shot, I have the library filtered for Vyrso books. NOTE: If you delete the app, you will lose your resources. If you reinstall (such as when you update the software), the books remain.

Thanks Alabama24

So in my situation where I have updated the app to the latest version how would I go about reinstalling it without deleting it first and, hence, losing the resources?
Sorry, am a little slow this morning!

No. I deleted app again and the only resource I attempted to download again was the ESV when prompted at the outset. Crashed again.
My Logos application works well both on the iPhone and IPad.
However, my Vyrso application started well, all looked working nice. I tried to use the highlighting option. I applied highlighter to one paragraph and after some time of syncing it crashed. I tried to kill the application, start it again, with no result. It starts to open and crashes. When opening Vyrso on my iPhone all looked OK till the syncing did not bring the problem to iPhone too. Since then it crashes the same way on both iPhone and iPad. I re-installed Vyrso a couple of times already and after install it works nice, till the moment it sync stuff from the cloud. then it crashes again.
It looks to me the problem is in syncing with the cloud.

I don't know if you can. [:(]
Normally, the only way to reinstall (unless there is an update from the iOS store) is to delete the app.

I had a problem similar to yours and I ended up reworking my note files which seemed to fix the problem. This solution, however, is not what Logos intends for its users. You may need to provide a crash log - let's see what Logos has to say.

I am having the same problem, app crashes on my iPad 2. Have deleted and re-installed. App still crashes. Uh oh, something isn't right, Logos.

I tried to re-edit the note on the PC and see if that would change the problem. I opened the same book and deleted the highlighting. In iPhone Logos it synced the change immediately, in Vyrso it hasn't helped a bit. [:(]
I have no idea how to get log files from the iPad 2 for Vyrso.

I am waiting to hear from someone before I tell you to send in your logs... If that isn't what they want, it could be counter productive, plus a waste of your time.
Thanks alabama. I just did one more thing:
1... I deleted Vyrso application on both iPad 2 and iPhone 4.
2... On my PC I opened the book that I highlighted in Vyrso before and got crash.
3... I deleted the previous highlighting annotation already before, so now I created a new one. I made sure I synced that to the cloud. I opened iPhone Logos and let it sync also so that I could see the highlighting annotation on the iPhone and iPad.
4... I installed Vyrso on my iPhone and when asked to download Bible, I refused (before I always accepted). I let iPhone Vyrso sync so long that I could see the data downloading circle disappear.
5... Only now I downloaded Bible and opened the given book and found the page with the new highlighting. No crash this time.
6... I did exactly the same on the iPad. All worked exactly the same, with one change: the given book opened already to the page with the new highlighted annotation.
No crash since. All works well. I hope it might help to some of you guys also.

Yes, just do a hard reset and you should be back in business... I find that a lot of apps need this to work correctly after an update.

I think that was one of the problems I had previously. Glad it worked for you.

I too can now get into the app in Airplane Mode. I can even turn wifi back on while in the app. However, once I try to multitask with another app, it crashes again. And so I repeat the process...

We are getting crash logs automatically for this version. I believe there is a memory issue that will manifest if downloading resources and syncing at the same time. I recommend not downloading resources while syncing. Rebooting the device will also free memory, which will help. We are working on reducing memory usage.

Thanks Dave! It looks great while it works [:D]

Dave,
Mine is to the point now where it's not downloading any resources (after uninstall, hard reset & reinstall)... it just crashes while trying to do the initial sync, then immediately crashes upon open thereafter

It was the same with me. I restarted the Vyrso, I restarted iPad, I re-installed Vyrso... always crashed in the initial syncing. My cure was either refusing of the initial download of the Bible, or the changes to the highlights that crushed my Vyrso at the first time.

Reduce it ASAP. I can't get it to load. Thanks! It still crashes even when I don't download any resources.
