Logos/Vyrso for Android 0.9.4 Beta 3


We have released Beta 3 of 0.9.4 today. This will be a non-market release.

There is no auto-updating, so check back soon to see if we have released an update!  When 0.9.4 officially releases, it will be put into the market as usual.

Important installation/update instructions for Kindle Fire users: To install the beta (or any non-market release) on the Kindle Fire, you must uninstall the Amazon Market version first. Similarly, when you no longer want the beta, you must uninstall the beta version *before* installing or clicking "update" from the Amazon Market. Future installations/updates may fail if you try to use the Amazon's market updater while you have a non-market version of an app installed.

  • When opening the app, resources prefer to open to the user’s last sync’d position
  • Daily Devotionals opened from Library prefer to open to today’s date

Fixed in 0.9.4 Beta 3

  • Inability to launch guides by long-pressing words
  • Not being able to open some resources when panel-linking was on
  • Panel-linking navigating incompatible resources
  • Turning off “Follow Presentations” failing to stop checking for nearby presentations
  • Rotating the screen or resizing a split-screen panel causing the resource to display the title page
  • Crash on 2.1 devices when clicking some links
  • Crash in image viewer
  • Kindle Fire: Back button on Reading View’s “more” menu not returning you to the initial menu
  • Various bug fixes and improvements

Known Issues in 0.9.x

  • Search is online-only (for now)
  • Calendar signal events do not properly populate all the calendar fields on some devices (particularly 3.0+)
  • Cannot select signals with the trackball
  • Signals are not fully themed in low-light mode
  • Some Logos4Reference signals are not fully supported
  • Popups and menus do not display Greek and Hebrew correctly
  • Right-to-left text (especially Hebrew) does not display correctly
  • Poor network connection may show an error message
  • Network connections from behind a login page are not supported (e.g. a hotel or other hotspot that requires login)
  • The app will crash if there is no SD card
  • Some apocryphal books cannot be navigated to through the verse picker
