I have fought Alpha 2 since yesterday and will throw in the towel on this version. After 18 hours of indexing, it started last night. It crashed multiple times, but it did run. Then this morning I get up, I am having trouble getting past the login screen. I did manage to get it running once, but I think the indexing wasn't working correctly as I could not look up anything in the library. After a restart, it won't go past the login screen again. My logs are at the bottom of this messsage.
System Specs
- L4 Mac Alpha 2
- 2.8 Ghz Intel Core 2 Du
- 4 GB Ram
- 320 GB hard drive
- OSX Snow Leopard 10.6.2
I'm willing to give it another go with Alpha 3. Is there an RSS or email list which will notify us about the new release? Most important will be instructions on whether or not we should do a complete uninstall or upgrade. I hope it is an upgrade, because my data limits with my ISP will not allow me to keep downloading all the resources!
