Note Files

Two note questions:
First is it possible to highlight text without creating a new note file?
And second is there any way to recover a deleted note file? I deleted the notes "markup file" because I did not need any notes with the highlights I made and it erased all my highlights!
Thanks

Highlights must go to a file, but you can specify what file they go to on a palate by palate basis. On the Highlights panel for each palate you can choose where highlights are to be directed.

Not that you or I can do. Perhaps Logos can do this, but you'd have to contact Tech Support. I believe it would involve them finding a backup file on their servers.

Mark,
Thank you for your time and quick reply. I'll call tech support Monday and see if they can help me. Highlighting helped me find important quotes when returning to a book and it would be good to get them back.

They should be able to do it. See http://community.logos.com/forums/p/43176/322004.aspx#322004 and http://community.logos.com/forums/p/44319/329853.aspx#329853. If you're lucky Bradley Grainger is still around to see this. Otherwise you'll have to wait till Monday.

I didn't see a notes document named "markup file" associated with your account, but there was one named "Emphasis Markup" with many notes, so I've undeleted it.
The next time Logos 4 syncs, it should download this document and restore those highlights to your resources. (If you deliberately deleted it and wanted it to stay deleted, you'll need to delete it again from the File menu.)
