Syntax Searching - Skipping some levels

Is there any way to limit the number of levels that can be skipped on a syntax search? I often find myself willing to skip one or two levels, but you seem only to get the choice of all or nothing. Am I missing something?

With Anything  use  Repeats  0 to x times

It doesn't show on the diagram, but will skip up to x levels.

    EDIT:

Sorry, that will skip 0 to x words and it doesn't help with intervening levels.

That leaves you specifying what specific element you can allow to intervene as Repeats 0 to x times OR specifying elements you don't want!
