Those of us Interested in John Wesley

Those of us Interested in John Wesley should contact Cokesbury and Abingdon once again and urge them to publish the Bicentennial Edition of his works in Logos. Many of us have done this in the past, but we need to do it again. Politely.

Since Abingdon published their folio version, new volumes have been released, and another new volume is to be released this June. Therefore, it is time for them to seriously consider publishing a new electronic version. It needs to be released in Logos.

Let's keep contacting them - especially in light of their publishing the NIB and NIBD in Logos.

I am in agreement with you but will Logos be willing to carry the Cokesbury edition when they have theirs? Secondly can you pass on a contact for Cokesbery?

Of course, I could not speak for Logos, but I know they seek to publish the best and most scholarly resources. Without question the Bicentennial Edition is the only truly scholarly edition of Wesley's Works in almost a century. It's scholarship is unsurpassed. I think it would be to Logos' advantage to be the Bible program that publishes it.

I also am encouraged that Logos is publishing Abingdon / Cokesbury resources. I believe this makes it mutually beneficial for the new edition of Wesley to be published. Also, this set will no doubt be somewhat more expensive and profitable for both. So I think it is possible that Logos would be willing to publish it.

Also, Logos is NOT publishing all the Wesley material in new Abingdon set. This is particularly true of Wesley's Letters, for example. The Abingdon set is far more complete.

As I noted previously, the current Abingdon folio cd does not include a number of new volumes, and in June another volume will be published. The current Abingdon cd lacks at least three volumes that have been published. The current cd in folio format has four volumes of Sermons, seven volumes of Journals and Diaries, and one volume on the hymns. It seems reasonable that Abingdon would want to publish an updated cd with the volumes on Wesley's Letters, etc. If so, shouldn't it be done in the Logos format, which is far superior to Folio?
