Logos selleth, Logos taketh away…

As many here are aware, something happened to people's downloaded resources on their Android devices recently. It happened to me, and while I wasn't super invested in this, time wise and internet usage wise, this event got me to thinking about the investment I have in Logos resources and the amount of control Logos has over my investment.

Is there any way to backup and restore Logos resources without Logos involvement? It ALMOST seems prudent to purchase a backup computer to hold one's Logos content in off-line mode if our resources are susceptible to this type of loss. Logos lack of acknowledgement of this event has me concerned as much as anything.

Uh oh...my downloaded resources have vanished!

What are the PRACTICAL concerns involved here?

Just to be clear... no one "lost" anything -- this was a bug in which a local cache of cloud-based data was reset as part of a software upgrade. Logos didn't cancel or retract any licenses, or take anything away. I'm sorry for the inconvenience involved, and we've changed the code to prevent it happening again. But I don't want someone to read this thread and think Logos "takes away" resources.

Also, if you go to the thread you linked to, you will find an acknowledgement, an apology, and a detailed technical explanation of how it happened (on page two of the thread).

Sorry, I didn't see that. I should have said there was no acknowledgment on my thread. I posted another thread because the issue was more fleshed out there. I looked for a Logos response on that thread, but didn't think to look for additional pages of discussion there.

I would suggest in this case of using Google's advanced search with "resource" and (under "One or more of these words") "missing" or "disappearing" then list the forum address as the domain to be searched.

The truth isn't always pretty, as they say.

Reported thread as abuse due to intentional misleading in original post (title and some content) plus many abusive replies (by several forum users) that lack focus on using Logos Bible Software. Having to download resources again after login does not equate to "Logos taketh away..." part of thread title. If had been unable to access resources again, then title would be truthful.

Also appreciate frustration needing to download resources again (been there, done that). Thankful for Logos iOS 2 app feature to search library, then one tap to download all, which is planned for Android app. Noticed Android 0.9.4 release added split screen for viewing resources, which iOS app has had for many months so am encouraged by Android progress.

Praying for God's Love and Peace for all involved in this thread. Also praying for friendly forum focus on using Logos Bible Software.

Curious a complaint about one of Logos mobile apps is posted in General forum instead of follow-up in Android forum or reply to thread that was linked in original post. Hence words used were intentionally used to elicit many responses, which has succeeded.

Bob Pritchett has stated one reason he prefers not to delete posts is people may be more careful what they say if they know it will remain there for all to see. It is not as if the offensive posts were a momentary lapse of reason. There have been pleas from many to apply some self-control.
