I was one of the early 'angry ones' on Logos4's announcement. But I crossgraded and watched it do the downloading and indexing for a day or so. Now, I have L3 and L4 running in parallel and quite frankly I spend most of my time over on the L4 side (I'm running a $350 cheapo, 2gig with W7). I shut off internet access to get L4 to behave. Years ago being a programmer, and later on a corporate programming manager and then more recently a VP for software planning, I can see the issues facing Logos. One, you can't sit around, and two your customer base combines experts and novices. Personally I think the vision/enthusiasm at Logos got the better of them, and there's a tremendous reluctance to let user's know what's facing them. I guess the lesson learned for me is that the hubris of 'owned resources' ignores changes in the reader software, which can be excruciating and maddening (and at the same time, no less).
