Regarding the state of saved passage guides

I remember a lot of discussion about this a couple of years ago, but I'm wondering if the state of things has changed any since then (doesn't seem so, but maybe I'm missing something.)  This is one of several threads relating to the issue:

http://community.logos.com/forums/p/10972/86169.aspx

Is this STILL the only way to find and delete saved passage guides?  What is the purpose of being able to save them if they aren't easily accessible?  What about "refreshing" a saved guide to include new resources or sections that your custom PG didn't contain when you saved it?  I'm trying to find some benefit/use to taking the time to name passage guides and use the stars to mark helpful commentaries, etc, but right now it seems to me that the feature isn't as fleshed out as it should be in order to be useful.  In addition to easier accessibility and ability to find/delete, I notice that only commentaries can be marked as "especially helpful".  What if there is a dictionary entry or journal article or monograph section that I find especially helpful in studying that passage?  There is no way to mark it that I can tell, which severely limits the usefulness of this capability.  I can see this being a useful feature IF it were expanded a bit...it would be nice to be able to return to the study of some passage two years from now and quickly take note of the various commentaries AND articles, monographs, journals, etc that I found useful when studying it last time to quickly bring myself back up to speed and then from there examine some newer resources that I've acquired in the meantime.

Also, (again, unless I'm missing it) I can't find any information in help or the wiki or any of the videos that better explains the purpose/usefulness of marking items as useful and of saving passage guides.  So are we still in the same place as we were two years ago with this feature?

I'm no wiser after 2 years[:(]

Wouldn't know what I have "saved" or marked "useful". Somebody helped me to figure out what "Refresh Guide" does a few weeks ago!

Well, at least I'm not the only one then... [:p]

Could you perhaps enlighten me on that one? [:)]

Hmm... if the two people with > 10,000 posts are baffled by this, something tells me there's something wrong with this feature.

Not quite. There is better retention of the notes across a refresh and the length of the stored note has been increased.

[Y] I agree...I hope we can get some official word on this feature from Logos this week...I honestly do want to like it and can see it being useful with some changes.

Are you referring to the notes that you can attach to PG sections in a saved PG?

Yes, it was a point Bob P. brought to my attention during the last flurry on notes. I tested and he was definitely right.

Changes to the UI for browsing saved guides are planned for a future release.

Thanks Bradley.  Hopefully the future updates will include the ability to mark dictionary entries, journal articles, and monographs with an "especially helpful" star in the same way we can currently mark commentaries [:)]
