Print ESV and Logos ESV different! Eph. 4:11

Maybe it has to do with publish date, but my ESV print bible is different that what is with Logos, check it out:

Ephesians 4:11 (my print bible)

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers

Ephesians 4:11 (in Logos)

And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers

Any ideas why this is the case?

The ESV has undergone several revisions, and the one you have in Logos is the most up to date.

Thanks, I had no idea! I though once a translation was done, it was done until a re-release, so I guess I was expecting to see a New ESV, then a New Revised ESV, then a Today's Newly Revised ESV and so on . . .

There was a re-release but they didn't change the name of it. If you scroll to the beginning of your ESV in Logos, you'll see the edition listed:

ESV Text Edition: 2011

If you look in the front of your print ESV on the copyright page, you'll see the equivalent notice. Mine says ESV Text Edition: 2007.

This is similar to how different editions of any print book have been handled in the past, when they fix typos or whatever. If you look on the copyright page you'll see what edition it is, and what printing it is. They usually don't rename the book, or even call it a "2nd edition" unless there is a major rewrite. In the new era of digital books, it's much easier to slipstream updates of the text when corrections are made. We're lucky with our Logos books, because we automatically get free updates to the latest revision whenever they come out. With a Bible, however, we might like to see revision marks to see where they updated the language or fixed textual errors. But it doesn't work that way...so far. Maybe something we could request of Logos!

It looks like the Ephesians 4:11 change was made in 2007, however, and isn't documented officially. However, the following blog lists the changes:
