Search by Literary Typing

The passage guide includes the category of "Literary Typing." Is it possible to do a Bible search based on literary typing?
Ps 69 is a "Hymn, Poetry, Psalm of Complaint" Can I search for all other passages that match that?

Bruce - That is a great question! I don't think that you can, at least not through the software. It would seem to me to be a big challenge since "literary type" is fairly subjective, and there are various competing schemes.

Bruce,
The literary typing is a dataset that's baked into Logos. There isn't a resource that's tagged with it to search (as far as I know.)
It has been requested before: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/16828/127324.aspx
Prov. 15:23

I vaguely remember that now. How do you access it?

You can view it through the passage guide, I don't know of any other way.

Appears NASB 95 pericopes have heading tagging that uses a font size, which is considered large:
Dreaming of heading and/or large text for pericopes in other Bible resources.

It's a good thought, but unfortunately most of the headings are not literary typing, and it would only work in Psalms. [:'(]

Are you looking to search only the Psalms, or are you wanting literary typing for other parts of the Scriptures as well?
FWIW - it looks like Logos added Tooman Literary Genre Coding for OT passages and Mackie Literary Genre Coding for NT passages.

Right now I'm just thinking Psalms.

I realize that literary typing is somewhat subjective but is there a generally agree upon resource out there (or one you might recommend) that might be useful?

guess that's a stupid question since i'm sure for good reason logos is using Tooman
It would be nice to be able to search for all "Psalms of Complaint"

Earlier screen shot shows a NASB 95 pericope search result in Philippians 4.
After searching Entire Library for Psalms NEAR genre, noticed one resource had useful Table of Contents, so searched my Logos library for Psalms NEAR complaint, then ordered By Count:

Besides advanced search requests, you can also try to search in the Bible Browser by literary types or genres.
For instance, if you search with the first letters of a word, you shall get different close types.
E.g., if you search "apocalyp", you can get many cases of literary type like apocalyptic texts within the whole Bible.
Then, short definitions can be found in the "The Lexham Glossary of Literary Types".

You can also check : https://faithlifetv.com/media/306859?utm_source=faithlifetv.com&utm_medium=embedded-player&utm_campaign=embed
which explains how to do searches by literary types. Just be careful not to sort results by "fuzzy" search, else it shall not work properly...
