When I highlight text in a Bible and then press "CTRL+K" all it does is highlight the text - it doesn't give me an option for creating a hyperlink. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.
Welcome to the forums Michael!
You are trying to create a hyperlink that will point to a Bible reference, is that right?
Are you trying to do this within Logos, or from another program (e.g.) Word, so that clicking that hyperlink will open the your Bible to that location on your computer?
The typical way to copy a hyperlink is with CTRL-ALT-C (not CTRL-K which highlights, as you have seen). If you click the book icon in the upper left of your Bible pane, you'll see the various options for copying hyperlinks (it's called "Copy Location as..." in the menu. The choice there will depend on what you want to do with the hyperlink.
Hi Michael,
Richard has explained how to copy a hyperlink for pasting somewhere (e.g., into a Notes file), which is useful. But it sounds like you are trying to make a hyperlink in one of your Logos books, i.e., to make some text in your Bible link to somewhere else in your Logos library when you click on it. You can't actually add hyperlinks into Logos books (except user-created Personal Books, which is a different story). All you can do is insert a Note at that location and paste the hyperlink into the note. So you could use the method Richard outlined for you above to copy the URL of a location in one of your Logos resources, and then to to the Bible text where you want the hyperlink to that location to go, select the text, right-click on it, and select "Add a note to ...." I confess I don't remember what that menu item looks like if you've never added any notes before; for me it shows me the most recently opened Notes file that I can add a new note to. If you want to use a different Notes file or haven't created any Notes files yet, you might need to first click the File menu and then select the particular Notes file you want to open, or choose File > Notes to create a brand new one. Then after you do "Add a note to..." paste your hyperlink in there.
Thank you very much - both answers were helpful. I was trying to hyperlink a Bible verse so that it would point to a reference from a commentary, so adding a note was the way to go in this situation. Thanks.
If it was a reference at the same verse number in the commentary, you shouldn't need to make a hyperlink or a note to link it. Just use Link Sets. Look them up in the help file. If you open your Bible and commentary in the same Layout (save the Layout for future use) and link them together on the same link set (e.g., Set A), then when you scroll or go to a new verse in the Bible, the commentary will scroll along in sync.
I am trying to insert a hyperlink into a note from a book within Logos. From within the book, I "copied the location as a URL" for the resource pane. I then went into my note, highlighted the text that I wanted to hyperlink, clicked the chain link icon, pasted the URL. This is where i run into problems. From this point I cannot get the hyperlink to work. Am I missing a step? I am using logos for Mac.
Hi, H.F. - and welcome to the forums.
What you are doing should work. However, I know there are some issues with notes on the Mac platform but I'm afraid I don't know the specifics.
Suggest you post this again in the Mac forum - http://community.logos.com/forums/75.aspx - and see what guidance you get there

Welcome to the forums, H.F.!
Since you are using Logos for Mac you might want to take this question to the "Logos 4 Mac" forum. There are some issues with notes in Logos4 for Mac and I'm not familiar with them enough to comment.
I am using logos for Mac.
Notes in L4 Mac has some problems, and hyperlinking is one of them—a big one at that. You might take a look at some recent threads in the Logos for Mac Forum.
