Some interesting insights. It's clear the prof feels some of the same pains we do. E.g., clutter. Thanks for sharing the piece.
Thanks JH.
By the way, removing resources as discussed in the review will not speed up your MacBook installation. The best two things is to have as much ram as you can get & to use an SSD hard drive (if possible). Twenty seconds to switch layouts, however, may not be sped up much.
On another note, I discovered a new album High Street Hymns by visiting the review site.
The best two things is to have as much ram as you can get & to use an SSD hard drive (if possible).
And the THIRD thing you can do is switch to a PC where switching layouts (at least for me, on my 3yo desktop and 1.5yo laptop) takes ~7 seconds on average. This between complex layouts with a metric ton of open resources in multiple panes. (Caveat: Your definition of "metric ton" almost certainly will differ from mine... and that's OK [:)] )
Just highlighting (my personal perception of) the current state of maturity between the PC and Mac platforms. I also have a MBpro with Logos on it, and until/unless the application achieves parity with performance/features on my PC... I'll continue to use Logos on a PC.
