I don't think this has been mentioned in the forums before, if so I do apologise.

I am reading a book which has scripture references as footnotes, which means to view the passage you have to open a Bible which means loosing the book from the pane.

It would be nice to have a option for the second pane to have "send hyperlinks here" like in L4.5 so you can click on a reference and not loose your book from the first pane with the result of having the ability to compare the passage with the explanation in the book.

This would also be useful if you are studying a passage in pane 1 and then run a passage guide. Any commentaries opened could open into the second pane.

I think this feature would make studying and reading on iOS much improved.

I agree, but it seems to work in some instances. Try this:

    1. Open a commentary in your preferred Bible
    2. Turn "link panels" off
    3. Open your preferred bible (make sure its your preferred one)
    4. Find a reference to another passage in the commentary (1st panel) and the Bible (2nd panel) turns there.

Do you have an example of a book with references in the footnotes for me to troubleshoot? I can tell you that it doesnt work as easily as I would want it to. For example, it would be nice if your preferred bible didn't even have to be open in the 2nd pane.

    Try this:

    Yes, that works.

The book I am reading is T F Torrance: The Christian Doctrine of God. However, setting up the panes as you have described above (book in top pane and ESV in bottom pane) it does indeed open the references in the bottom window, which is fantastic, just what I was after. Thanks for your help alabama24.

It would still be neat though to have commentaries opened from the passage guide to open in the other pane, but for now I am happy with the above.

    Thanks

Glad it works for you. Improvements would be nice though. [:)]
