One feature I miss in Logos 4 is my old favorites - I had all my books categorised in Logos 3, so if I wanted to look for a book on a particular theme I just had to look up the category in my favorites. Not only are these favorites not copied over to Logos 4, but according to the "missing features" page there is no plan to do it in the future either. Which is a bit surprising, as it is not at all difficult, it took me just a few hours to write a program to do it. Anyway, for other people who had their favorites in Logos 3 and want to put them in Logos 4, I have put the program at http://www.laparola.net/ConvertFavourites.zip (couldn't figure out how to attach it to this message). Unzip and run the program, and then follow the instructions which are displayed. You will need some way to import a file into an SQLite database. In my instructions, you need to use Firefox and then install an extension to it, but there are other programs which do the same thing.
Some warnings:
1. The favorite in Logos 4 will go only to the first page to the text, even if the Logos 3 favorite went to a certain page.
2. I believe that Logos 4 can not cope with 2000 favorites, like I had. When it syncronizes with the server, it just can't cope. I presume it has to make a connection to check each favorite individually. After a couple of hours and the memory usage of the program having grown by 400Mb, I gave up. Someone at Logos might like to check what happens to the program when 2000 favorites are manually added to the program... I am going to see how many favorites I can import before the syncronization become unbearable.
